AIRIO TRACKER

The Live for Speed application provides the racing experience - the cars, tracks, graphics, physics, timing and so on. Overlaid on top of that, on our servers, is the Airio Tracker. This manages things like race control, sending idle or wayward drivers to spectate, organising the rotation of circuits, and providing statistics for you about your performance on this server such as the row of times at the top of the screen that show your split times compared to your previous bests and your theoretical best lap times.

Much of what is displayed to you is customisable through the Airio configuration panel (see left) - when on our server, hit Shift and i together to bring up the panel to show more, less, or different information on screen as you are racing.

The other important command is to press T for a text window, and then !help, to bring up a list of all the other available commands. With these two commands you will be able to find out all you need to know to get Airio working as you like it.

The full manual for Airio users can be seen here, and some frequently asked questions here. Regrettably, without Airio control, there are a significant number of players who join a server and destroy others' races, either by deliberate crashing and wrecking, doing drags, drifts, or doughnuts mid-race, or simply by being too slow or unaware of other cars' track positions. Airio will weed most of the problem drivers out automatically, so you can come on and have a clean and fair race.

Some important settings on our server you may want to know:
Repeatedly generating a blue flag for about 30 or more seconds leads to a penalty.
Re-start voting for 4 or more cars, on lap 1 only, or after race ends.
Auto-kick from server on first case of swearing (no warning).
Pit lane speeding not allowed at any time.

Wrong-way driving and system-detected serious crashing/loss of control can lead to immediate auto-spectate
.
Repeatedly joining with bad car set-up leads to auto-kick.
Multiple auto-spectates leads to an auto-kick, and multiple auto-kicks leads to a server ban, usually 4 days, so you can come back again midweek if you transgressed at the weekend.

The server is designed to be as self-policing as possible, with minimum admin intervention. Most of the time there is not an admin on the server, but someone may be watching via LFS Remote.

If you encounter problems while racing, either Airio or the server are misbehaving, or perhaps a problem driver is not being properly spectated or kicked, use one of the links below to get in touch. If Live Help is showing as "available" there may be someone around who can sort things out fairly quickly. Otherwise, send an email or leave a message.

It is also possible to identify problem drivers on the track before they crash into you, so be aware of people driving erratically in your mirrors or up ahead, and make allowances for them if you are racing them or passing them. Sometimes you can identify a potential problem driver just from their in-race nickname too; people whose creativity with driver names exceeds their driving skills will often choose boastful in-race nicknames like "Lewis Hamilton", "The Stig", "Veyron Driver", "F1 Superstar", "Too Fast 4 U", "Drift Rulez", "Drag King" and so on. Conversely you can expect a better standard of driving from people with a racing team "tag" in their nickname.
